HR Administrative Support
General Position Summary
The HR department is responsible for but not limited to; recruitment, orientation of new staff, personnel management, payroll administration, performance evaluation management, exit procedures for separating staff. The HR Administrative Support is an administrative professional who performs a variety of transactional duties in support of HR department. This is intended as a temporary position and the staff member will perform administrative duties required to establish and maintain archiving and tracking systems for the different hubs which will allow the HR team members to operate efficiently.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Support the HR team in setting up new electronic and paper archiving systems for employee files and recruitment files for different hubs.
- Maintain, organize and update staff personnel files, and ensure that all staff personnel changes are documented and updated in the HR database.
- Maintain and organize recruitment files after each recruitment process.
- Data entry and updating different HR documents (staff leaves tracker, performance review tracker and contact list).
- Assist with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties such as filling, photo copying and scanning any HR related documents.
- Receive, collect signatures, and distribute HR related documents.
- Assist HR Assistant in preparing HR documents, typing or translating letters or any other HR related documents.
- Maintain the confidentiality for all information in HR Department
Accountability to Project Participants
Mercy Corps team members are expected to support all efforts towards accountability, specifically to our project participants and to international standards guiding international relief and development work, while actively engaging participant communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of our field projects.

Reports Directly To: Senior HR Officer
Works Directly With: HR team members, Program staff, finance, and operations team.
Knowledge and Experience
- University Degree in management, administration or related fields.
- A fresh graduate / or a candidate with one year of experience in HR or Administration.
- Strong multi-tasking, organizational, prioritization skills are necessary.
- Highly communication skills and flexibility are highly required
- Accuracy and attention to details are necessary.
- Good skill in English and Arabic.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word.
Success Factors
The successful candidate will be proactive, preferably general understanding of humanitarian relief and development based organizations; high level of personal integrity, and honesty. The ability to interact effectively with international and national staff members is required. A demonstrated ability to work quickly and accurately, meet deadlines and process information in support of changing program activities is necessary.
Work Conditions
The position will be based in Amman, Jordan. Mercy Corps team members represent the agency both during and outside work hours when deployed in a field posting or on a visit/TDY to a field posting. Team members are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and respect local laws, customs and MC's policies, procedures, and values at all times and in all in-country venues.
