Compliance and Risk Management Specialist
1.Job Purpose
Responsible to ensure full compliance with all national and international laws and regulations that pertain to its particular industry by Umniah. He/She is also responsible to develop Compliance and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) programs, review company policies, and provide advice management on possible risks.
2. The job entails exposure to:
- Identify compliance requirements and assess associated strategic, operational, reporting and compliance risks with organization operations.
- Advise management on the applicable laws, regulation, rules and inform them about any compliance requirements and their impact; coordinate with users to establish and/or supervise appropriate compliance checks and controls.
- Centralize all information on compliance & ERM -related issues.
- Follow-up on non-compliance issues to determine implementation status of corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance with applicable laws, regulations and regulatory requirements by performing regular planned and adhoc compliance risk assessments and testing.
- Report results of Compliance & ERM matters on regular basis to Executive Committee.
- Liaise with relevant external agencies on compliance matters, as and when needed.
- Engage with key stakeholders of the company to build solid relationships, improve processes, share knowledge and develop a compliance and risk culture.
- Collaborate with external auditors and HR when needed.
- Assess company operations to determine compliance risk.
- Ensure all employees are educated on the latest regulations and processes.
- Resolve employee concerns about legal compliance.
- Developing and Maintenance of enterprise risk management framework, policy, process and procedures (collectively referred to as the ERM system), and its implementation across the organization.
- Facilitate risk identification, assessment and treatment within defined areas of responsibility.
- Undertake ERM maturity assessments and ERM framework benchmark studies against recognized good practice to demonstrate leading practice
3. Requirements
Education: Bachelor Degree in Law, finance, business administration or a related field
Work Experience: a minimum of 5 - 8 years with similar responsibilities
Knowledge Of:
- Legal requirements and controls

- Administrative tasks
Skills in:
- Risk Management
- Organization Governance
- Process Management
- Excellent command of English language speaking and writing
- Well versed in Microsoft Office applications; Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
