The Near East Foundation (NEF) is seeking candidates for a Capacity Building & Non-Financial Services Consultant to be based in Amman, Jordan. For over 100 years, NEF has worked to build more sustainable, prosperous, and inclusive communities in the Middle East and Africa through education, governance, and economic development initiatives. Working through a network of country offices and local partners, NEF currently has approximately 250 staff members and programs in nine countries: Armenia, Jordan, Lebanon, Mali, Morocco, Palestine, Senegal, Sudan, and Syria. Its programs are organized around three themes: Peacebuilding through Economic Cooperation, Resilient Agriculture and Development, and Inclusive Economic Development/Microenterprise Development.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
NEF Foundation seeks a qualified candidate for position of capacity building & Non-Financial Services Consultant, specific duties and responsibilities include:

Main duties include: 

  • Develop training needs assessment tools to identify partners involved staff training needs.
  • Conduct training needs assessment on selected partners' staff involved in the project in different geographical locations.
  • Prepare three-days training materials on lending scheme concept/model and on business development as per needs identified in the assessment.
  • Conduct three-days training workshop on lending scheme concept/model and on business development as per needs identified in the assessment.
  • Develop Template report for Mentoring Visit.
  • Participate in assessment, interviewing and recruiting master trainers. (sourced from partners' trainer pools and NEF master trainers).
  • Prepare training materials for three days’ workshop on business development, Financial literacy and coaching & mentoring principles for master trainers.
  • Conduct three days training workshop on business development, Financial literacy and coaching & mentoring principles for the selected Master Trainers.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration/management or any related field.
  • 10 years of professional experience of supporting organizations and people to develop their capacity and operate to best practice, including business and financial planning.
  • Professional experience in conducting TOT workshops using participatory approach.
  • Professional experience in developing training materials & modules.
  • Professional experience in planning and delivering training sessions.
  • Ability to demonstrate written and oral communication skills required to write formal reports of findings.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic skills.
  • Strong organizational & time management and monitoring skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude with MS Office including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required.
