                                                        The French section of Médecins Sans Frontières
                                                                   is recruiting for its project in Amman.

                                                                                           Caretaker

CONTEXT
Médecins Sans Frontières is a private, non-profit international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation. Médecins Sans Frontières is running a reconstructive surgery program in Amman and is seeking a Caretaker.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greets and directs patients to assigned rooms
• Informs patients and patients’ caretakers about regulations in hotel or hospital
• Instructs and advices patients on cleanliness and personal hygiene with the collaboration of the health educator
•  Informs patients about their OPD appointments and Physiotherapy appointments in Rehabilitation Center
• Provides patients with help in moving, baths, wheelchairs, in dressing, grooming, in feeding when necessary
• Cares for individuals during the period of their treatment, provides companionship, personal care and help in adjusting to new lifestyle
•  Does daily check up on blood pressure and blood sugar for patients as specified by the hospital team and refer to the supervisor in case of any medical issue.
• Collaborates with medical team in coordinating nursing plan and daily care of the patient
• Ensures medical follow up for patients having chronic disease or any other illness

PROFILE

• Nursing certificate (Associated nurse) or Nursing Diploma or High school Certificate in Nursing
• Written and verbal fluency in English and Arabic is required
• Minimum one year experience in known medical institute.
• Flexibility, ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment.

WORK LOCATION:  Amman
CONTRACT:   Fixed term contract – Full Time – 6 months
Probable start date: 1st October 2017
