LOCATION: Jordan, Amman, but open to other locations in the region

GRADE: NAT2

CONTRACT LENGTH: 1 Year dependant on location

ROLE PURPOSE:

As a key member of the broader Regional Operations team, you will support developing and implementing Save the Children's strategic approaches to Supply Chain in the Middle East & Eastern Europe (MEEE) Region involved building the right capacity of Supply Chain staff within the region.


You will work with Country Offices to build their Supply Chain and Operational capacity to plan and manage their overall supply chain, fleet, and assets efficiently and effectively, ensuring that programmes can meet their commitments and be accountable to beneficiaries and donors. You will be providing technical advice and oversight support to Country Supply Chain Leads and Focal points on all aspects of Supply Chain and operational program delivery, in order to gain efficiencies and reduce operational costs and improve the quality and timeliness of projects.


You will also be a key member of the Global Supply Chain Leadership Team, providing a regional perspective to the strategy and priorities of the function and delivering against this within the MEEE region.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Regional Operations and Humanitarian Response Director

Dotted Line to: Global Director of Supply Chain


Regional Dimensions: Save the Children works across a portfolio of countries in the Middle East and Eastern Europe (MEEE) supporting both humanitarian and development programming, with a large team of Supply Chain staff and an estimated USD 65 million procurement spend through 3rd Party, Stock Management of estimated USD 3.0 million and Fleet Operations through approximate 210 Rented and 68 Owned vehicles. The role focus is primarily on setting up Strategic Direction for Supply Chain, Operational Supply Chain support, building capacity, and monitoring across MEEE with technical line management and support to the MEEE Regional Supply Chain team.


Staff directly reporting to this post: Regional Procurement Manager, Regional Supply Chain Specialist, and Regional Supply Chain Coordinator.



KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:


Regional Supply Chain strategy development


In collaboration with SCI centre Supply Chain and Regional Operations, support the development of operational structures at country level which can incorporate Supply Chain planning into Country Strategic and Annual Plans and into proposal development, and which can deliver effectively and efficiently in both development and humanitarian contexts.
Be a key member of the global supply chain leadership team - taking ownership of key global initiatives (e.g. implementation of the project in selected countries, for selected categories of spend, Total inventory management (TIM), Prove, Flexible Operating Model, Self and Shared Service Model, etc.
In collaboration with SCI centre Supply Chain, support the development of the most cost-efficient and effective procurement approach for the regions, including during emergencies.
Maintain an overview of SCI Supply Chain performance (supply planning, procurement, shipping, warehousing, fleet, and asset management) across the regions and advise on improving overall performance.
To lead the continuous improvement activity for Good Distribution Practice. 
To ensure Good Distribution Practice SOP'S are implemented by their function and any non-compliance reports are recorded and reported to the Quality Manager or delegate.
