الشاغر :

Social Worker ( Jordanian Nationals Only)

Organization: The Center for Victims of Torture (CVT) provides rehabilitative support to survivors of torture and war violence and works for the prevention of torture worldwide. We work locally, nationally and internationally through programs that provide treatment services, training, research and advocacy that heal survivors and end the practice of torture.

Position: Social Worker
Location: This position may be in Amman or other city according to program needs**
Objective: The Social Worker provide social work services to clients from diverse geographic, cultural and social backgrounds, serving as an advocate and cultural broker. Actively participate as a member of an interdisciplinary healing team. Pursue opportunities beyond direct client care in areas such as resource building related to client social service needs. For this position the person is obliged to respect the confidentiality of the information about personnel and the programme.
Report to: Social Services & Outreach Manager
Supervise: No supervision responsibility
A. Key Responsibilities:
1. To assess the needs of the clients as individual or as a family (this might require addressing the specific social work needs of male clients including accompaniment activities to medical care facilities and Home visit on case to case basis) 
Areas of needs to assess:
  • Medical
  • Financial and housing
  • Education and training
  • Legal aspects, resettlement process and protection
  • Recreational activities (for children)
  • Any other
2. Case management:
· To evaluate the case management needs of the client and design an action plan with the client
· Demonstrates ability to work as an interdisciplinary team member (regularly discuss cases with colleagues from other disciplines.
· Works collaboratively in joint sessions, share information between departments, updates colleagues on outcomes of referrals. 
· To accurately refer beneficiary’s need and challenges with specific and appropriate service providers.
· To follow up the outcomes for the client and to provide feed-back to the source of referral. To effectively manage complex or high risk cases, including accurately assessing risk, developing intervention and follow up plans in close collaboration with interdisciplinary team members and under supervision of the Social Services Manager.
3. Networking and mapping of the existing external resources (national and international organizations providing support to refugees).
· Represent CVT professionally and accurately to external contacts.
· To up-date the existing CVT guide of services and share information with CVT Amman Social Worker when needed
· To cultivate and maintain lively and mutually beneficial relationships with the current and potential CVT partners (through regular face to face meeting, by attending workshops and events, and visiting other organizations …)
· To call the attention of the clinical team on any important new actor in the field of refugees assistance; to feed back the clinical team on general new trend, major difficulties faced by the refugees (he/she might identifies them through his/her individual appointment with the CVT clients or through meetings with other actors)
· To work in close collaboration with the CVT outreach department in order to design a comprehensive strategy towards refugees living in Jordan. 
Target:
· CVT clients and/or beneficiaries (clients engaged in counseling and close relatives of the clients)
· Potential clients of CVT after referral from the Outreach team.
· Highly vulnerable cases (abuse cases, psychiatric cases) which are not CVT clients but for whom CVT intervenes for case management only: these cases will be in limited number, the decision to intervene will be done on case to case bases and in close collaboration with the clinical team
Reporting:
· To write monthly activities and statistical report that includes activities 
B. Qualifications
· Minimum BA degree in social sciences, preferably in social work
· At least 2 years relevant work experience, preferably in social work, outreach work or counseling
· Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written)
· Computer literate in Microsoft Office
· Excellent interpersonal skills. 
· Good team player and able to work independently
· Strong organizational and analytical skills;
· Good communication and problem solving skills
· Not afraid to work in somewhat challenging areas
· Able to maintain strict confidentiality
C. General conditions
  1. Maintain neutrality regarding any sensitive issues such as religion, minority or political affiliation; 
  2. Strong commitment to serve beneficiaries of CVT’s project regardless their religion, gender, minority affiliation or political background; 
  3. Is strictly committed to respect CVT’s confidentiality policy and to not use any information that s/he will know about a client outside of CVT and to not approach (potential) clients for their involvement in none CVT activities without prior approval of CVT’s supervisor;
  4. Keep absolute confidentiality on all the information managed and is particularly cautious when sharing information concerning CVT clients with external organization.
  5. If doing so, he/she first make sure the client has sign a written consent for any referral he/she makes Is aware that breaking confidentiality of the client might expose the client to danger especially regarding the actual situation in his/her country of origin;
  6. Feel responsible to report any information to the supervisor when the security of CVT staff and/or of CVT client might become an issue;
  7. This job profile can be adapted and changed according to the evolution of CVT activities;
  8. Upholds the highest humanitarian standards, including the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) six key principles related to prevention of sexual abuse and exploitation
