SOS Children’s Villages International is the umbrella organisation for over 130 SOS Children’s Villages associations worldwide. As a non-governmental social development organisation we work in the field of alternative child care and prevention of separation of children from their families. For the Regional Office CEE/CIS/Middle East we are looking for a committed 
Regional Programme Advisor -
Family Strengthening and Emergency (f/m)

Location: Amman, Jordan
Responsibilities:
• Supports programme development and monitors quality in SOS Member Associations in 6 Middle East countries (Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Iraq) in the area of prevention of separation of children from their families with additional expertise in emergency work and alternative care.
• Provides expertise and builds capacity of SOS Member Associations in: implementing community based family strengthening programmes; methods of working with children with challenging behaviour and affected by trauma; family support services in emergency situations; and alternative care.
• Coordinates disaster response and crisis management activities, provides preparedness training, and prepares emergency plans and procedures for the affected countries in the 6 Middle East countries.
• Develops, maintains and implements the crisis and continuity management and emergency response system to the affected countries in the Middle East region.
• Monitors and supports the implementation of organisational and international quality standards, policies, and guidelines in SOS Member Associations, including evaluations and audits
• Contributes to the development of organisational policies and guidelines
Requirements:
• Higher university degree in social sciences, social work, social pedagogy
• At least 5 years work experience in community based family support programmes, including direct work in programmes
• Experience in community based programmes in emergency settings
• Strong experience in project planning, monitoring and evaluation
• Experience in organising and holding workshops, meetings and trainings
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic
• Readiness to travel at least 30% of working time
