The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) is looking for project
coordinator.
The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) was established in 1990, as multifunctional
nongovernmental relief organization, assisting vulnerable communities suffering from the consequences
of war and natural disasters all over the world. JHCO is registered with the Ministry of Social
Development of Jordan with the mandate to coordinate humanitarian response efforts, manage funds
from national and international donors and establish appropriate logistical support for transporting
humanitarian aid to affected areas all over the world. Since its establishment, JHCO as the Humanitarian
Ambassador for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has provided emergency and humanitarian assistance
to over 15 million vulnerable individuals suffering from the consequences of war and natural disasters in
over 37 countries.
Since the beginning of the Syrian refugee crisis JHCO has turned its focus inwards and has contributed
substantially to the early relief efforts to serve Syrian refugees. JHCO continues to function as a
coordinating force for international aid organizations operating in Jordan as the liaison with the
Jordanian government. As a result, in 2014, the Jordanian Government appointed JHCO as the sole
entity authorized to supervise in-kind and cash assistance programs implemented by local or
international organizations targeting Syrian refugees settled in the host and urban communities
throughout the Kingdom.
JHCO has been responding to the Syria crisis since 2011 by implementing various humanitarian and
development projects in the kingdom in partnership with various local and international organizations.



Scope of Work:
The purpose of the project coordinator position is to provide overall leadership and coordination for
ensuring the implementation and accomplishment of the objectives of the project under his/her
responsibility in line with JHCO vision, goals, and program principles and standards.



Profile of the project coordinator

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, business administration, public administration, economic or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Professional experience
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in the protection sector of the humanitarian field and any other related sector.
Languages
  • Arabic Language 
  • English Language (Fluent)
Conditions:
  • Contract for 4 months
  • Start date of work : 15/01/202
  • Location: Amman, Jordan.
Professional requirements
  • Strong understanding of the humanitarian emergency operating context, including Sphere, the humanitarian system, donors, and program management.
  • Experience implementing protection programs.
  • Experience working with an INGO in humanitarian emergency operating context.
  • Working knowledge of donor requirements and compliance issues.
  • A working knowledge of project planning, monitoring and reviews, budget planning and management.
Main Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the project for which he/she is responsible for and ensure that they are in line with the plan and with donor regulations and requirements.
  • Supervise the work of the field team members.
  • Lead the field team to achieve quality planned project outputs and objectives based on project plan.
  • Follow-up with all the teams to ensure all activities implemented are on track.
  • Regularly provide written programmatic and finance reports.
  • Use the tools and terminology of protection strategies and project cycle management to communicate project activities and objectives to the field team. 
  • Represent JHCO in formal communications with local authorities and the donor.
  • Attends sector meetings and assists with determining project details, including objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Oversee day-to-day project implementation and ensure effective and timely completion of the planned activities/interventions
  • Competence with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Build a positive and productive working relationship with staff.
