The goal of this department is to check the purity of our products who are global produced. As a Quality Control Farm Manager, you will manage our agronomical operations and all related activities for our two Quality Control farms in Jordan. You will manage our local farm team, which consists of 2 fixed employees and ~20 seasonal employees.
Tasks and responsibilities:
As a QC Farm Manager, you will have a broad range of responsibilities:
You are the end responsible for the set up and execution of the crop management and crop evaluations regarding quality. You can rely on your 2 technicians who have strong technical knowledge.
Together with the technicians you make priorities in the incoming requests in order to ensure timely, efficient, accurate and verifiable testing results.
Since it is a global scope, you will communicate with internal stakeholders and the Global QC environment about the test prioritizations, results, processes and general plant management. It is part of your job to optimize existing farming technologies and protocols and closely monitor new developments in farming.
You manage, direct and coordinate the personnel flow within the local QC team (incl. appraisal, training, career planning, etc).
You monitor and evaluate the departmental budget and expenditures in order to control costs within defined targets and advise Regional Head QA about necessary adjustments to the forecast. And inform Regional Head of QA about short term investment and headcount needs
About you:

Bachelor/HBO degree in Agriculture/Horticulture or related field preferred
2 to 5 years of experience in the seed business / agricultural business
Experience in lab certifications or accreditations is seen as an advantage
Detail and quality oriented
Strong people management skills
Team player
Strong analytical abilities
Pro-active decision-making
Strong written and verbal communication skills, in local language and in English
Proficient in Microsoft Office
