Chief Accountant

1.  Purpose of the Position: The Chief Accountant will assist the Finance Director to contribute to efficient and effective accounting, financial management and financial reporting by executing daily tasks with strong attention to details, with particular responsibility for maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers, producing account and bank reconciliations, assisting with monthly closings and account analysis, showing ability to complete core monthly accounting and financial reporting tasks with minimum supervision.

2.  Responsibilities: Supporting the Finance Director in Supervising the Accountants: manage the accounting department day to day transactions to ensure manage day to day accounting functions efficient and effective financial management for GFP. in compliance with GFP and Donor/Partner policies and reporting requirements. Responsible for monitoring and reviewing all accounting activities, General ledger management and reviewal for all transactions in par with organization instruction.  Perform financial analysis and reporting to management as needed. Perform month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations and journal entries. Coordinate with finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines. Generate financial reports and statements to Managers for review. Monitor expenditures analyze revenues and determine budget variances and report the same to management. Respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion. Provide guidance to other Accountants when needed. Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts. Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations. Maintaining donor reports and make sure the reports are compliance to donor reporting formats and timely submitted as per contractual requirements. Review and recommend changes to existing accounting procedures. Assist with annual audit and donors financial spot checks and compliance. Assist with especial events and projects as required. Brand items, Revenue Generation Events, Programs Reports. Assisting with monthly and year end tasks, Contributing and brainstorming ideas in support of organization objectives.

5. Education, Qualifications, Competences, Skills Required: Essential: University bachelor’s degree essential, accounting, finance, business management. Minimum 7 years working experience in international accounting environment, at least 3 years similar role. Excellent computer skills (MS Office/Advanced Excel/Accounting Systems (ERPs)/Presentation/Email) Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic. Interest in global current affairs, peace building and development. Commitment to learning and personal development. Preferred: Demonstrated payroll processing experience. للتقديم من هنا
