The French section of MSF is present in some thirty countries worldwide.
Médecins sans Frontières seeks for its field position: 

REGIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST ARABIC SPEAKING COUNTRIES-PSYCHO-SOCIAL UNIT INTERSECTION
You are in charge to provide psychological support to MSF field teams in the Middle and Arabic
speaking countries.
Principle duties of the position
- Carry regular Field visits to promote the activities and carry direct consultations to the
national or international Staff
- Provide psychological support at distance and on request to the national staff by skype or
phone
- Carry Field visits in case of critical incident under the responsibility of the Psycho-social Unit
- Develop under the supervision of the coordinator a regional and local strategy to improve
support to the staff (external consultant, others NGOs, etc)
- Give recommendations to the Operational Cell and Field about the psychological support
after field visits
- Increase the understanding of Stress Management to Coordinators and Activity Managers
(stress definition, reactions, consequences, identification of troubled or at risk people)
- Prepares monthly statistics to Operational Cell and Psycho social Unit in Amman and Paris
Reporting to:
- Hierarchical: Coordinator of the Psycho Social Unit located in Amman
- Technical: Psycho-Social Unit cell based in Paris (OCP) and Amsterdam (OCA)/ Medical
Coordinators and Med Cell during visits
Terms of employment:
Based in Jordan, with frequent travels (more than 50% of the time) between the missions in Middle
East.
Profile :
- Knowledge of MSF including field experience
- Graduated In Psychology, Good knowledge of Psycho-trauma and psychological debriefing
- Good experience in stress management and conflict management
- Diplomatic, good communication skills, ability to listen
- Organized, flexible and autonomous
- Time management: reactive, you know how to anticipate and manage your priorities
- Ability to work under pressure
- Mandatory: English and Arabic read, spoken and written
Status:
WORK LOCATION: Based in Jordan, with frequent travels (more than 50% of the time) between the missions in Middle East and Arabic speaking countries
CONTRACT: Fixed term contract – Full Time – 6 months
