Zaatari Manager - Maternity Cover - 3 months

Scope of Work:The Zaatari Manager will oversee daily implementation of the program activities under Lutheran World Federation Peace Oasis located in Zaatari camp. The Zaatari Manager will manage both project and support staff in Zaatari camp to ensure daily activities are implemented to scheduled work plans, budget and quality. The Zaatari Manager will report directly to the Protection Coordinator and work closely with the Program Manager.
Responsibilities:
This position will focus on coordinating with LWF staff in Peace Oasis in program management of day to day activities and will also have a strong focus on increasing and expanding programing in Zaatari camp while improving the capacity of staff and volunteers in the camp. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Management:
• Manage all operations in Peace Oasis Zaatari Camp according to the work plan, budget and implementation strategy.
• Review and update work plan throughout the project in cooperation with program manager and protection coordinator
• Monitor and pro-actively track and manage project budget.
• Work closely with the Protection Coordinator to develop appropriate methodologies, materials and training for staff.
• Oversee and provide guidance on all project components, including community events, parents training, recreational and psycho-social activities.
• Provide managerial oversight, support and capacity building to the project and the LWF team in Peace Oasis 
• Coordinate and manage relationships with the stakeholders of the project, including beneficiaries, contractors, partners, local government and other organizations.
• Document all program activities, achievements and challenges in monthly and final reports 
• Actively participate in relevant coordination meetings and working groups, government and other specific coordination meetings – ensuring coordination of data flow and lessons learned
• Working with the Program Manager to develop and maintain close coordination and collaboration with UNHCR/UNICEF and other organizations in camp
• Act as focal point for LWF Peace Oasis in Zaatari Camp
Team Management 
• Create and sustain a work environment of mutual respect where team members strive to achieve excellence.
• Promote accountability, communicate expectations and provide constructive feedback via regular performance reviews.
• Supervise, hire and orient new team members as necessary.
• Provide team members with information, tools and other resources to improve performance and reach objectives.
• Coach, train and mentor team and volunteers with the aim of strengthening their technical capacity, exchanging knowledge with the team and providing professional development
• Contribute to country team-building efforts, help team members identify problem solving options and ensure the integration of all team members into relevant decision-making processes.
• Identify, train and develop capacity of national staff 
Coordination
• With Protection Coordinator and Program Manager, ensure that the Zaatari camp program adequately and cost-effectively addresses the needs of adults, children & youth, rooted in an understanding of the context and other initiatives within the education, protection and livelihoods sectors.
• Provide daily coordination with Protection Coordinator to ensure that inputs and technical quality of program activities are efficient and coordinated;
• Work closely with Child Protection Advisor to develop appropriate methodologies, materials and training.
• Analyse related reports, pre /post questionnaires, training evaluation results, writing weekly summary report indicating lessons learned, and work toward continuous improvement by documenting successes and challenges in the implementation. Prepare evidence/data based weekly and monthly reports to LWF and incidental reports as required.
• To the greatest extent possible, ensure cross cutting themes, mainstreaming Gender, environmental and disability aspects in the project cycle.
• Conduct field visits for donors when needed
• Working closley with the Protection Coordinator promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities.
• Review the monthly financial progress report with the Protection Coordinator and other relevant staff.
• Feed into sector specific strategy development and technical proposal design with Program Manager

The LWF and LWF workers must adhere to the values and principles outlined in the code of Conduct and Child Protection Policy.
Conducting himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Lutheran World Federation and to not jeopardize it humanitarian mission.

Requirements
Generic professional competencies for this position:
• Minimum 1 year experience in project management .
• BSs degree required and Master degree preferable in any relevant field .
• Experience working in a humanitarian/recovery context
• Previous experience working in emergency and complex contexts
• Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
• Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
• Good reporting skills
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal
