Job Description
Job Title: Sterilization Technician
Reports to: Sterilization Officer
Location: Irbid

JOB SUMMARY
- Receive decontaminated surgical instruments and ward equipment for the preparation of sterilization procedures.
- Prepare the decontaminated instruments and supplies for the cleaning and disinfectant procedures as following the National requirements and safety guidelines.
- Sterilize the instruments and supplies for Operating Theatre, Maternity and other hospital departments.
- Ensure that there are available adequate supplies at all times.
- To use protective clothing and be aware of universal precautions according to hospital procedures.
- To pack and sterilize all instruments and linen and other material as required.
- To report and replace faulty or missing instruments as necessary.
- To ensure that the sterilization department is kept clean and tidy.
- To operate the autoclaves, clean them regularly and ensure that they are kept in a good state of repair. Report faults as necessary and ensure regular maintenance program.
- To ensure that there is an adequate stock of material required for sterilization.
- Understand basic principles of disinfection and sterilization
Qualifications Required:
- Education: certificate in sterilization or nursing
- Years of experience: min 2 in sterilization
