Operations Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Summary:
Responsible for managing and supervising the construction, commissioning and the subsequent
operations and maintenance of a LPG import terminal, leading and managing a team of Engineers in
preparation of mobilization and execution of terminal construction projects. Manage and resolve all
project installation and operational issues with the team and work closely with the Operations
Manager to ensure completion of the projects. Support in any ad‐hoc project and tasks as required
by the management or project team.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

project installation and operational issues with the team and work closely with the Operations
Manager to ensure completion of the projects. Support in any ad‐hoc project and tasks as required
by the management or project team.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans;
- Estimate project budgets, coordinate with finance department for funds and plan for
purchasing of materials in a cost‐effective way. - Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and
regulations. - Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating
time requirements; sequencing project elements. - Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning
personnel to phases and elements; reviewing bids from contractors. - Be first point of contact where problems and issues arise and take responsibility to
resolve them with operational staff. - Establish and maintain relationships with third parties.
- Communicate project roadmap, priorities and key status updates to project stakeholders
- Ensure team meets set project milestones and KPIs
- Develop and manage various project aspects including objective, cost, schedule, risk,
technical feasibility, and resource availability and allocation - Interface with EPC contractor to ensure project interfaces are managed appropriately to
minimize potential claims - Communicate with stakeholders (internal and external) regarding project status and
updates - Proactively manage technical and commercial risks throughout project execution cycle
- Monitor and check the quality control of all related works of the Installation Department.

and commissioning of the terminal

Manager - Coordinate with Country Manager for site related matters and interfaces required for
the terminal to ensure safe and smooth execution of project - Work with authorities to ensure compliance of LPG terminal with all applicable
procedures and laws. - Manage all aspects of operations, maintenance and reliability of the terminal construction including storage tanks, compressors, condensers, pumps, jetty facilities,
truck loading bays, firefighting facilities, utilities, electrical, control systems and safety systems. - Performs other job duties as assigned.
- To be a good role model for the team in term of compliance with the company
policies and procedures and work ethics.
- Maintain a complete headcount in the entity, and request employees in case of
shortage.
- Follow up constantly on the quantity and quality of work, and on the completion of
tasks.
- Conduct probation and formal performance appraisal in line with company
guidelines.
- Hire new employees and ensure proper induction and training is being carried out.
- Continuously manage the performance of the employees and provide coaching and
constructive feedback.
- Safeguard discipline at work, and handle policies noncompliance such as
absenteeism, tardiness…
- Regularly communicate with staff to maintain positive relationships.
- Encourage employees’ initiatives and new ideas.
Health, Safety and Security
- Ensure that the highest HSSE standards are met and implemented during
construction and the terminal is compliant with all design and HSSE standards.
- Familiarize self with the Health and Safety requirements and ensure that the
Technical team promote and comply with them
- Take responsibility to rectify hazardous situations, reporting major areas of concern
to the Management.
- Ensure security incidents reviewed and corrective measures implemented to prevent
recurring incidents.
المهارات
Education:
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.Experience:
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.Experience:
- 10‐15 years and above in Oil & Gas Industry, specifically in Projects, Operations &
Maintenance - A minimum 5 years’ LPG Terminal operations and maintenance is preferred or
Equivalent - Proven management of works related to construction
- Experience of managing and coordinating complexity and time.
- High level of English language skills, both written and oral
- High level of computer literacy such as Microsoft and AutoCAD.
- High degree of planning and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Effective time management skills
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
- Effectively lead teams and inspire others to achieve goals through innovation, quality
and excellence - Ability to match project tasks with opportunities for development so that employee
potential is utilized to the maximum - Able to make quick decisions and solve technical problems to provide an efficient
environment for project implementation - Take Initiative
- Ability to communicate effectively with teams and clients
- Delegate and allocate responsibilities efficiently to manage projects end to end.
Liaise with all Operations Managers, Clients, Engineers, and Heads of departments, Sales
team and Installation team for the Technical aspect of the business.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS
The unavoidable, externally imposed conditions under which the work must be performed and which create hardship for the incumbent including the frequency and duration of occurrence of physical demands, environmental conditions, demands on one’s senses and metal demands.
1. Physical Demands: The Operations Manager will have to spend hours outside the office.
2. Environmental Conditions: The Operations Manager may have to manage a number of projects at one time, and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of employees.
3. Sensory Demands: Sensory demands include use of the computer.
4. Mental Demands: The Operations Manager will have to manage a number of requests and situations at one time. Stress may be caused by the need to complete tasks
within tight deadlines.** Based on the job description and the competencies included above, a set of Key performance indicators (KPIs) will be issued and can help evaluate the employees by measuring how well they
perform and what are the areas of improvements and accordingly.
