The incumbent of this post is responsible to the Project Manager.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent:
· Carries out the following activities as required to implement the terms of the contact on site as directed by the Project Manager:
Measures and agrees with contractors’ staff the quantities of work executed and checks other accounts such as government sales tax to be recovered by the Agency so that the interim and final payments due to the contractor can be certified;
Checks and records on working drawings/as built drawings prepared for this purpose, the actual level and details of foundations, the type of strata encountered in the excavation and full details of any deviations from the working drawings/as built drawings which may have been made during the execution of the work;
In case of any work which may result in the contractor claiming payment as additional work, evaluates and records all relevant circumstances in detail and in consultation with the project manager agrees with the contractor costs of labour, materials and equipment involved in executing the additional work to facilitate decisions made by project manager.
Maintains a site diary with a detailed history of the construction/maintenance works and all happenings at the site and submits regular reports;
Records and reports progress of work in comparison with the contractor’s programme of work as agreed by the Agency;
Examines and approves, in consultation with the project manager as necessary, methods proposed by the contractor to ensure safe and satisfactory execution of the permanent work;
7. Supervises the work carried out by contractors on site to ensure that it is executed to correct line and level, the materials and workmanship comply with the specifications and all necessary tests on materials including inspections of manufacture at source of components are incorporated into the permanent works;
8. Coordinates and supervises the maintenance projects in the Area and reports on progress.
9. Conducts periodic routine inspections of all Agency buildings, installations and infrastructure and takes necessary action in the case of essential maintenance requirements.
10.Carries out contract administration duties as directed, including the preparation of bills of quantities, cost estimates for quantities and materials, specifications, interim and final payment certificates, etc.
11.Responsible in coordination with the project manager for expenditure and cost control on all maintenance contracts under his responsibility.
12. Prepares work plans and periodic progress reports for maintenance and other engineering works to the project manager.
13. Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
· A university degree in civil engineering.
· A minimum of five years’ experience in site supervision of building projects , including at least one year in maintenance projects (supervision or contractor) .
Language
Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic.
Competencies
· Ability to take initiative and produce sound professional judgment;
· Knowledge of local practice and materials used in Jordan;
· Ability to prioritize and evaluate works;
· Ability to work under pressure;
· Good communication (both written & verbal) skills.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
· Civil engineering training courses;
· Possession of a valid driving license in Jordan.
Equivalency
When the minimum requirements are not fully met, the concerned Director may exceptionally substitute part of the unmet requirements with a combination of relevant academic qualifications, additional professional training and progressive relevant work experience.
NB: Work experience alone or formal qualifications with no relevant work experience are not considered an acceptable combination.

The incumbent of this post reports to Agency Electrical Engineer.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
In accordance with Agency policy and procedures the incumbent:
· Responsible for safe and correct operation of the distribution of power supply and fixed equipment at Agency Premises;
· Inspect all materials supplied to the Premises (Schools, Health Centers…etc) by the (Contractor) electrician to be installed in the works & certify that they are in accordance with the specification.
· Inspect & certify the correct installation procedure at each stage during the installation of electrical material including lying of cables, wires, conduits & distribution boards etc.
· Measure, Record & Certify the quantities of Electrical Works installed at regular intervals, usually on weekly basis & before electrician submits an interim payment. Then finally certify the whole quantity of Electrical Work carried out upon completion of the work.
· Follow up & report on the progress of work regular basis to the project manager
· Ensure all LED light supplied to the site as per specifications & UNRWA requirements.
· Ensure that upgrading works was completed as per technical study prepared.
· Ensure that the installation/upgrading of all technical components related to AC systems, fire alarm system are made upon the study prepared.
· Attend meetings as requested by project manager and/or electrical engineer
· Test installed work for safety and adequacy;
· Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
Independence of Work
(A) Application of guidance
Incumbent has to apply all Agency procedures, rules, regulations and specifications for all work carried out. He is also required to apply his professional knowledge and exercise, judgment during implementation of all construction and maintenance work on electrical installed works in Agency buildings.
(B) Supervisory control over work of Incumbent
Decisions on safety and adequacy of electricity supply and fixed electrical equipment are made instantly. General instructions and supervision of day-to-day work are exercised by Project Manager.
Qualifications
· A university degree in Electrical Engineering (Power System).
· Minimum five years experience in supply and distribution of electricity to buildings.
· Working Knowledge of both English and Arabic is required.
Competencies
· High level of skill in identifying electrical faults, diagnosing the root causes and taking remedial action;
· Ability to maintain good working relationship with user departments and work with others in own department in a team environment.
· Good Communication (both written& verbal) skills.
Desirable Qualifications
· Professional qualification in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems);
· Professional of a valid driving license in Jordan.

· When the minimum requirements are not met, the Director of Administration and Human Resources, in consultation with the Director concerned, may exceptionally substitute part of these requirements with a combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional training and progressive work experience.
