Application Process 
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
World Vision International is seeking a qualified and highly motivated individual who can ensure that World Vision’s programs in Jordan are of quality and represented well to the international community through effective project design, proposal development, and grant management. Under the direction of the Program Officer, the Junior Program Officer will work with the Programs and Operations teams, as well as other relevant internal and external stakeholders, to develop new proposals, startup new grants, and report on ongoing grants to relevant ministries and coordination mechanisms.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:


Project Design & Proposal Development
  • Support Program Officer in new project design workshops or meetings as needed.
  • Document and share needs analyses to ensure appropriate data is available for donor submissions.
  • Support the Program Officer in drafting of agreed sections in narrative proposals and other proposal development-related tasks.

Reporting & Coordination
  • Prepare monthly, annual and end-of-project narrative reports, newsletters, situational reports and other reports as necessary.
  • Link with the operations and finance departments to ensure the compiling/collating of reports.
  • Serve as lead liaison with support offices for a portfolio of small privately funded projects (under guidance of the Program Officer).
  • Support the facilitation of grant startup workshops.

Information Management
  • Maintain proposal and project archives.
  • Compile and analyse relevant information to inform proposal design, program management, and promote learning.
  • Update and maintain databases such as Horizon and Activity Info.

Other
  • Monitor compliance of specific donor rules and regulations through field visits, as needed.
  • Assist with other duties as requested by management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, International Development, International Relations or related field or Bachelor's degree (in Social Sciences, International Development, International Relations) with equivalent work experience (1-2 years).
  • Computer literate with excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent writing skills (specifically in English) with a focus on clarity, brevity and research
  • Work experience in international relief and development in various geographical areas, or extensive experience in one; 1-2 years (experience through internships is valid).
  • Work experience in intercultural teams and/or abroad.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in Arabic.
  • Direct work experience with International NGOs, UN agencies, or local NGOs.
  • Proven work experience reporting on large quantities of qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Program development and management.
  • Nonprofit fundraising and donor relations.
