Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a
Mechanical Construction Engineer for an anticipated position supporting a construction effort in the country of Jordan. The mechanical engineer will research and analyze data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application. Provide mechanical design service including determination of HVAC loads, equipment selection, duct sizing and routing, interior plumbing design, exterior plumbing design, and fire protection systems.
The work location for this position is on the MUWAFFAQ-SALTI Air Base (MSAB) in Jordan.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
- Design products or systems in support of facilities' infrastructure, research, or maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate, troubleshoot, and approve installation activities as inspection services to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and specifications.
- Establish mechanical engineering design criteria and provide guidance and evaluation for facility projects; determine HVAC loads, complete equipment selection, perform duct sizing and routing, design interior/exterior plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or in an appropriate engineering discipline;
- Four (4) years of job related experience;
- Experience with mechanical design to include determination of HVAC loads, equipment selection, duct sizing and routing, interior plumbing design, exterior plumbing design, and fire protection systems;
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2012 or later;
- Position requires minimum of Secret Clearance and the ability to maintain it;
- Due to nature of the work, candidate must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
